The Family Man is a Drama series revolving around a Cat and Mouse interplay between an Indian T.A.S.K Officer ( Manoj Bajpai) and a Terror Mastermind (Neeraj Madhav). Unfolding at the sides is also a Family Story, involving his wife, played by Priyamani and 2 loving kids.
The story unleashes angles of past love ( Gul Panag), travels forth Kashmir and then back to Mumbai, with sound plot interplay of reason and a good chase. Served at the side is a hint of infidelity and personal aspirations of a woman. And this is what adds novelty to an otherwise regular chase story.
Also refreshing is Manoj Bajpai’s quest to find time for his Family despite his extraordinary work pressures, lack of a good paycheck , mundane Office To-do’s leading to almost comical sequences where he is shown being, well, “The Family Man”
What could have been yet another familiar story on terrorism and failed plots, has been rendered a freshness of well….a family twist. While there is are predicable elements of a Terror Mastermind, an Intelligence Unit working to save the world and all that, there are certain very interesting parallel tracks that keep the viewer glued.
The ambitions of a wife, interplay of a middle class Indian Family, upbringing of children, infidelity, low pay check and struggles of a regular middle-class Man, all have been tackled very realistically.
Manoj Bajpai, the name says it all, is effortless and enchants with his acting. The real pack out of the blue, is Priyamvani, his wife, who impresses with her effective portrayal of a mother, a career woman and a cheating partner.
