Story

Queen web series  Tamil on MX Player runs 11 episodes long, length of each episode being around an hour long. As much as an hour-long episode arrangement seems like a stretch, the web series does in fact offer you an inciteful engagement for watching.

While the audience would call it a theatrical biopic, the makers of the show have clarified that the intended basis originates from a book of the same name. However, the show and it’s various elements do in fact draw much relevance and similarities to the life of Ex Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa.

The show revolves around the life of the character “Shakti”. Not only does the show highlight the major milestones in her life, but we also get to see the tone of the show change without much confusion broadly divided into three phases, Shakti’s school life, her career as an actress, and her political career.

Queen Web Series is available in TamilTelugu, and Hindi.  The show has been created by Gautham Menon and Prasath Murugesan.

Queen Web Series Review – A Politically Incorrect Conclusion

With the pretext of inspiration taken from Smt. Jayalalitha’s life kept in mind, we see the opening scene showcasing an interview. As much as it seems like fictional writing from an artist’s perspective, the scenes do seem very very similar to what happened in real life.

The show revolves around the life of the character of “Shakti”. Not only does the show highlight the major milestones in her life, but we also get to see the tone of the show change without much confusion broadly divided into three phases, Shakti’s school life, her career as an actress, and her political career.

Quite surprisingly, we also see how everything in her past, her values, her struggles, etc.have eventually culminated to her self opting for a political career ahead in her life.

Unlike any other web series, the tone of the lead character has not been set. Shakti not only highlights the positives such as that of a compassionate, emotional person but also of an arrogant, egoistic person. In essence, the show, with a beautiful sense of direction has managed to show not only the troughs and crests of a girl in a time wherein it wasn’t just the society limiting the female clout but patriarchy and misogyny were the general tones of the society but also shows how things were back then for a female professional regardless of the field/phases she was in.

Queen Web Series online Telugu can be streamed on MX Player.
