Guvva Gorinka Movie Review – A naive, unpolished love story

The name is very attractive to catch the audience attention, but the movie is just average. There is nothing new to offer for the viewers.

The movie is about two individuals who share a flat but with a partition. Sadanand is a PhD student who is working on making a soundless engine, he does not like loud noises and unnecessary sounds. Sireesha is a post graduate pursuing music. As the movie progresses they do not see each other, but start liking and fall for each other. But Sadanand gets to know Sireesha has a liking for music. Will they be able to unite? Marry? What happens to this love, is the story of the movie.

Guvva Gorinka Movie Cast

  • Director: Mohan Dommidi
  • Music: Satyadev

Guvva Gorinka Movie Trailer

At the start of this movie, it was expected to be a cute love story. But there is nothing of sought throughout. Though the idea of love story is not new, but the writing does not have an impact.

The lead pair story is too short, so looks like the director has introduced the concept of living together with a partition and the role of priyadarshi.

It reminds of movies like veer-Zara where they are separated, of course veer Zara is way too different love story unlike Guvva gorinka. The moments which make the separation dissolve are okay.

There are scenes where they fight about the dislikes, soon to know and predict otherwise they would be meeting up in next scene.

The movie is all about the compatibility and communication issues, it’s just a repeat of many movies earlier where after all, they love and get together at the end, a happy end.

The hero is seen hanging in a garage with his friends there who are spending their life doing silly things and singing some folk type songs, which is the better part of movie, to keep us through till end.

Casting of few roles like hero’s father does not suit, the lead pair is okay but no good chemistry between them.

It looks like movie should have been released long time ago, but even for that it looks very old, so basically nothing innovative of course to entertain.

Satyadev acting is good, Priya lall does not emote very well, further polishing of acting is required, Priyadarshi, Ramakrishna do well, if only they got a good script.

Bithri Sathi’s spoof of Arjun reddy is the high light of movie, but has less screen time, generates good laughter and makes movie little happening.

Dialogues and the lyrics of the movie are neat.

Music

Satyadev music is good for the movie, and leaves us humming for some time.

Direction

Direction by Mohan Dommidi is not great due to the poor writing of movie.

Editing

Editing could have been strict; many scenes could be avoided to make sense out of this movie.

Verdict

It’s a run of the mill story, with little amounts of romance and comedy, and very naïve. It may be watched if you want to see the partition kind of love story.
