The Married Woman web series 2021 is based on the life of Aastha, a married woman blessed with two children and somewhat considerate in-laws. Aastha is married to Hemant, who loves her, but doesn’t understand her unspoken words. Aastha is a professor in a college and one day she meets Aijaz Khan, a creative director who is hired to direct a play written by Aastha—Romeo-Juliet in the era of today. Set in the city of Delhi, the story takes us back when riots were the happenings of every lane, and curfew was the normal lifestyle, just like today’s lockdown. Aijaz talked of liberation, he spread the message of love and religious harmony. He gave a political angle to Aastha’s play and personified the love of Romeo and Juliet as the enemy of conditions and demarcations. Although Aijaz was married to Peeplika, a painter by profession, Aastha had fallen in love with him and the day she confessed, Aijaz politely rejected her—and the same day, he was murdered in a planned bomb blast. Two months later, Hemant’s niece had fallen in love with Aijaz’s student and the two tied their nuptial knot with the help and support of Peeplika and Aastha. One evening, Aastha visited Peeplika’s place and seeing her shattered in the memories of Aijaz, Aastha went close to her and both of them share a moment. The story takes its pace, where the life of Aastha passes through the crossings of dilemma every now and then.

The Married Woman Trailer
The Married Woman web series has multiple stories to tell. But what it focusses more on is the attention to detail.
Script
The script of The Married Woman web series Zee5+ Alt Balaji is just like a waterfall. It has got no colour of its own, but as soon as the words are spoken in the scenes, some magic quilt is woven. The script is contextual to the plot and contributes in characterisation.
Acting
While Riddhi Dogra is the star of the show, Monica Dogra also nails the series with her work of spontaneity. In just the first few episodes, Imaaduddin Shah proved his craft of acting in the most beautiful way. Performances in The Married Woman lifted the series up to a different level.
Music
Music fitted well into the slots of the scenes. The lyrics were substantial with good patchwork of melody.
Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing
John Wilmor as the DOP did a splendid work in giving the visuals of The Married Woman a different dimension altogether. Editing was also done well thereby ensuring a firm binding of the series.
Direction
Baljit Singh Chaddha and Sahir Raza had an excellent directorial approach towards the series. Romantic drama with an inherent thrill—the directors gifted a new combination. What made The Married Woman so special was the projection of the way a woman’s voice gets subdued. The character of Hemant has been worked upon in great details—he is not oppressive, He is vulnerable, he loves Aastha. His world only knows his family. But at the same time, somewhere, he doesn’t let Aastha free. He believes that just employment can give the taste of freedom to a woman. He thinks that a gold jewellery set can actually overwrite a woman’s memories that linger on the last gold-plated necklace gifted by her father. Hemant is not a villain; he just doesn’t understand.
