Pareeksha movie review – A microscopic case study of Super 30—reiteration of “अब राजा का बेटा राजा नहीं बनेगा। राजा वही बनेगा जो हक़दार होगा।”

The story of Zee5 originals production Pareeksha movie 2020 talks about a rickshaw driver, Buchi Paswan, who sends his son Bubul to a Government school but dreams big for him. While he drove the students of Sapphire International School from home to school and vice versa, he gets to know that the faculties of the school of his son are irregular, but Bulbul is a very bright student. He aspires to send his son to the international school. Bulbul’s mother, Radhika works as a buffer in a steel utensil factory.

They toil their days to make money for Bulbul. One day, Buchi finds a wallet containing nearly 80000 rupees in his rickshaw, probably left by one of his passengers. He tries to reach out to the owner of the wallet but fails as it does not have any ID proof. He uses the money for the admission of his son to Sapphire International School after Bulbul is allowed to take the test and interview for admission.

But school fees is not a one-time investment. In order to make Bulbul focussed on his exams and enroll him to the special tuition classes that the school arranged for, Bulbul resorts to larceny. One day he is caught and arrested by the police. On knowing the truth and understanding the determination of Bulbul, the regional SP decides not to tell Bulbul’s family about it, though he has to tell them on the day of the hearing of Bulbul’s case.

Political pressure sets in and the management board is compelled to cancel Bulbuls’ candidacy from the board examination. But the Principal of the school has immense faith in Bulbul and somehow manages the permit from the administration to allow him for the board exam. As a result, Bulbul stands first, and once again it is restored that diligence and determination can always outnumber privilege.

Script

The script of Pareeksha movie Zee5 is not path-breaking, but the dialogue framing is quite powerful. When Bulbul tells his father, “Mujhe Chori ka marks nahi chahiye”—his father’s heart is filled with contentment while his eyes are filled with the scare of uncertainty. The character of the regional SP is primarily defined by his dialogues.

Acting

Shubham has done great work with minimal dialogues but maximized the work of eyes. He doesn’t fall prey to astonishment; what he believes is if one does his work well, people will recognize that person irrespective of his or her background. Adil Hussain, mostly seen to deliver roles of sophistication and egalitarianism. But his performance throughout the film, from dragging the rickshaw to trembling with nervousness while committing his first work of larceny—everything just made us forget the Adil Hussain of Good News, Kabir Singh or Aahare Mon.

Music

Under the supervision of Advait Nemlekar, the music and background scores of Pareeksha took the tension in the film to another level. The tale was not made overly dramatic. Realism sparked throughout the movie.

Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing

If there is one aspect in the film which had the scope of betterment, then that one aspect is the cinematography. With Sachin Krishn as the DOP, a work of camera could have been a little more placid to the eyes. Important cinematographic moments got missed out due to a lack of efficient cinematography. Santosh Mandal on the other hand could work well as the editor of Pareeksha movie watch online.

Direction

Prakash Jha did a fantastic work as the director of Pareeksha. If a boy is studying in a Government school where teachers are irregular and the medium of instruction is mostly Hindi, he will surely have issues with English even if he can excel in other subjects with his merit and hard work. This has been portrayed very well with proper substantiation. Most of the films made in this regard show how the students of the downtrodden are bullied by the elite class. But here, neither Bulbul was accepted with open arms in the very beginning, nor was he subjected to any sort of brutality. This is the real essence of balance that Pareeksha movie online depicts. Overall, Pareeksha is a movie which speaks of a lot of social messages, but without the aid of any kind of melodramatic or serious features.
