Charitraheen 3 Review – An intricate plot with extraordinary execution

Charitraheen Season 3 web series story on Hoichoi is an excellent sequel of its last two prequels. The story begins with Dr. Rabeya Shamim dealing with one of her patients. Dr. Shamim is a psychiatrist. She is shown to take a break and go for a solo tour at Aulpur, a not-so-talked about beautiful place in West Bengal. On her first day at the spot, she meets Satish as her guide, and develops a good bond with him. On that very same day, Hindu-Muslim riots occur at Aulpur and as a result of which, Satish gets brutally beaten up. On the verge of her abduction, the leader of one of the gangs who planned and executed the riot recognizes Rabeya as the same psychiatrist who treated his younger sister. So Rabeya is freed immediately. She arranges for the treatment of Satish but never goes to meet him during his treatment.

After recovering from the physical injuries, Satish starts searching for Rabeya and eventually finds that Rabeya lives in the same house which was owned by Kiranmoyee. Satish meets Rabeya and he gets to know how they survived that night. Satish returns to his sister Nirupama and brother-in-law Abhay. They live in a large furnished apartment now. Satish starts roaming here and there and suddenly gets to see Kiran at the Ganges. At first, he feels that it’s an illusion. But then his belief of Kiran’s existence strengthens.

It eventually gets revealed that in the last season, although Kiran was shown to commit suicide, she returned from the cave of death. But officially, she was declared dead through the death certificate issued by Abhay himself. Abhay and Nirupama made financial arrangements for Kiran and her legal husband Richard. And they put only one condition—Kiran should never come in front of Satish. It is also revealed that Rabeya was actually fitted by Abhay to get Satish back to the city of Kolkata.

Charitraheen Season 3 is a project of potential possibilities. The series has a complicated storyline executed quite well.

Script

The script of Hoichoi Charitraheen Season 3 web series has a lot of depth in it. There is a degree of dignity in the dialogues, monologues and also the dialogues portrayed as the conversation between the souls of two individuals. The diction is aptly maintained.

Acting

Swastika Mukherjee is excellent in the character of Rabeya aka Anuja. In the beginning her tone was quite monotonous. But as the situations kept coming up in the series, the true version of Swastika Mukherjee got revealed through the skin of Rabeya and Anuja—she proved it once more that when it comes to the craft, Swastika Mukherjee can nail it in any character of any shape and size. Sourav Chakraborty was clean in his approach. His performance depicted a lot of clarity. Judhajit Sarkar was excellent in portraying Richard. He utilised every opportunity of sculpting out the edges of his character through goo acting skills. Saurav Das is undoubtedly the star of the show. He repeated a lot of lines—but they never seemed monotonous. He actually became Satish completely in Charitraheen: Season 3.

Music

The music of Charitraheen 3 was designed in the most appropriate way. Amit-Ishan’s work in music is bound to make the viewers nostalgic about the earlier seasons of Charitraheen on Hoichoi.

Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing

Indranath Marick as the DOP and Sanglap Bhowmik as the editor of Charitraheen: Season 3 did a splendid job in putting together the visuals of this series with beauty at its best. The lighting setup was amazing.

Direction

Charitraheen 3 is definitely a treat to the eyes, especially for those who are familiar with its prequels. Debaloy Bhattacharya’s directorial approach is undoubtedly worthy of appreciation. But what could have taken the series to the top is a little more clarity and elimination of confusion. The part where Rabeya takes Satish to commit suicide together seems to be very unnatural. And after all these years of hardships, Kiran suddenly kills Richard—even that is not very natural. All these loose ends required a little more insight and explanation. Nonetheless, Charitraheen: Season 3 is a good series to watch on Hoichoi.
