Triples Web Series Review – Superficial, long romcom.
Triples is a web series with songs and many movie elements, which is actually fit to be movie rather than a web series. However, it is a fun series with lot of other entertainment elements.
Triples is the story about three friends Ram aka Jai, Cheenu aka Rajkumar and Maadhu aka Vivek Prasanna. The series begins with Jai getting married for second time to Madhuri when Vani comes and announces that she is two months pregnant. They were separated due to family issues, and Jai is unaware about her pregnancy.
Jai and his friends take a loan to start a café from a moneylender. He is a typical character in this series.
Why did Vani separate from Jai, what happens to them after she announces pregnancy? What is the role of Mythili and how do they run the café and return the loan? This is what the series all about.

The story writer has attempted the story in the lines of crazy Mohan, but the narration has not matched the story. Some parts which remind us of typical crazy Mohan movies are mistaken identities, chaotic with many people around, and with a complicated end.
Movies dialogues and situations are very predictable.
A serious subject like a childless couple facing family criticism is also addressed here, but not in a suitable manner.
It tries hard to be a funny web series; it succeeds to an extent but not fully.
None of the ingredients of this series reach a point, though all seem to be there like sensitive conflict, romcom, situational and dialogue humour, supporting actors with a purpose, and then a finally happy ending for all this chaos.
The series looks very lengthy throughout as if it’s being stretched just for the sake of making it long. Especially the starting and endings editing part is worst.
It’s a total of eight episodes of 22mins average episode.

Performances
Jai role is very clear and he does it well, vani bhojan has acted well especially the emotional scenes. Vivek prasanna and rajkumar for a change got big role length but could have done more if the story was written well.
Namita plays the role to the T, the chemistry between namita and vivek is good.
This is a story about three friends and their lives, chaos, and ends up in goa to sort out a big mess, during this is we get all the laughs.
Direction
Charusekar has made a decent webseries, about the series, characterisation is the highlight of the movie, director ensures he introduces the subject in such a way that all the scenes, twists, turns, are covered and a reasonable movied with a proper end is made. In some places the comic reactions though are already there, the director has over dosed it, and looks complex.
Cinematography
It’s up to the mark and point, aerial views are a treat to eye with full of colours. It gives a hep look t the movie.
Music
Vishal Chandrasekhar has given good back ground music; ads to the comic scenes well, the songs for the movie do not fit in the place.
Verdict
It’s a watchable original series, where humour is in parts. It’s a decent watch which is unusual on OTT with no vulgarity and bad dialogues.
