Mail Web Series Review – The nostalgic journey of 20’s
Kambalpally Kathalu is a collection of stories, of which Mail is the first chapter. It’s a latest web series on Aha.
The story is set back in 2005, when the world was witnessing the computer and it’s own world. Ravi is a college student studying computers in college and is very fascinated and excited by the computers and its vastness. Priyadarshi at the same time, somewhere in a Kambalpalli village is toying with an idea to open an internet centre as, and finally he does it.
Ravi comes to know this and comes to Priyadarshi and starts spending time there. Of many things priyadarshi helps in opening a mail account for Ravi. Soon after he receives an email where he has won few crores as prize money.
How does Ravi react and change in terms of his attitude and how people are getting along with Ravi, forms the movie in bulk.

Priyadarshi suits the role to the” T”, after Uday Gurrala, had screened many people, priyadarshi who he knew before was finalized as Uday was confident he would perform the role well. Uday is known for his cinematography work, before Mail, as he did for movies like Neeshedi, 24 kisses, etc.
Cinematography
Cinematography of the movie is very real and simple and matches the movie situation aptly. Screenplay is again by uday and very good adds to the story of the movie and gels along with movie. Dialogues of the movie are simple and very much relatable to the normal conversations in our daily life.
Sincere performances by the entire cast make the movie very watchable. The cast has been picked from the village itself.
Narration of the film is a drawback it is tardy and steals the attraction of the movie; sometimes it gives feel like documentary. Priyadarshi role could have been more long and added to the meaning of the story.
Music of the movie is highlight as there is no song at all in the movie just the background music is what it gives the movie a musical feel. Again it’s done very simple way and just adds to the movie.
Romance between the lead pair is cute and never goes over the top of movie, the role of Harshit Reddy as a confused young guy is very charming and just fits the movie’s story. He enacts the role of Ravi very nicely who is seen in fear, awe, and very amused with computer and its world.
The movie is all respects is very balanced in all elements, be it the cinematography of natural scenery, romance, dialogues, etc all these elements are very well balanced. The climax in the end with a twist and suspense is the good part of the movie.
Verdict
All in all it’s a cute drama, simple and engaging storyline, nostalgic in narration taking us back to 20’s. It’s a good watch for this festive time.
