London Confidential movie review – A thriller low on suspense and high on jingoism

The story London Confidential Zee5 new movie 2020 is basically built on the theme of the everlasting tension between India and China. The film had a flavour of jingoism from the very beginning. There was rarely any idea of freshness. A virus is shown to spread worldwide. And just within a few days, it is revealed that an Indian spy goes missing from London all of a sudden.

Further, it gets revealed that this Indian spy actually knew something that led to the truth that China had a major role to play in the spreading of this virus across the globe. Hussain Zaidi, who is an investigative journalist by profession, owns the writing credits of this film. China his behind the life of this spy, while India tries to save her man at any cost. This movie directs that India is on her way to save the world from another pandemic, thereby making the globe cautious about the spiteful plans of China. Two of the most competent officers of the country are then appointed to look for the Indian spy, who is actually abducted by China. Uma leads the investigating team.

London Confidential new movie lacks a lot in giving its message. However, the presentation can call for a few audiences to watch it.

Script

The script of London Confidential movie Zee5 has a sheer lack of substance. The dialect and diction are maintained well. But then there is quite a lack of research work.The background of the movie remains unclear—even after brief narratives. The monologues used make the film appear to be like a radio show, or even worse.

Acting

London Confidential Mouni Roy did quite a good job as Uma. Her expressions worked well and what is even more appreciable is her delivery of dialogues. In addition to Mouni Roy, Purab Kohli, Diljohn Singh and Jas Binag did an excellent work throughout the film. It is needless to say that in terms of performance, London Confidential actually had everything it should have had.

Music

Sanket Naik was absolutely amazing in delineating the movie through appropriate background scores. At least the scores managed to give a feel of thrill in the bland screenplay of the movie.    

Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing

The best aspect of this film was actually marked by Ewan Mulligan. His work of cinematography is undoubtedly delectable and gave a different dimension to the film. Editing by Parikshhit Jha is also worthy of appreciation.

Direction

Kanwal Sethi’s direction had a large room for improvisation. The subject of the film actually had a lot to offer. But the lack of vision did not make anything fruitful out of the project. The pattern of chasing the wrong and getting deceived is quite old. And even if the same pattern is followed, there are a good number of ways to present it. Minute direction is one of the key elements in such situation. Sadly, with some of the best talents of the industry, London Confidential lacks the spice of thrill and falls apart.
