Crackdown Voot Review – An incredible blend of brain and brawn

The story of Crackdown Web Series Voot carries the fragrance of thrill at every crossing. What is more malicious for this country—terrorism from outside or office politics from inside? Well, if one vandalises the nation with bombshells, the other eats the heart of the country from within, just like the worm eats away the petals of the innocent flower in The Sick Rose by William Blake.

Riyaz Pathan is a RAW agent. In one of the operations, a terrorist named Mariyam accidentally gets killed. But the masterminds of the plan did not know about her demise. It was a golden opportunity for RAW to groom a lady and send her in place of the terrorist to get hold of the bigger picture. Riyaz convinces Divya, a middle-class young lady to fill in for Mariyam and become a part of the covert operation. Divya decides to help the intelligence agency so that one of the most wanted terrorists fall prey to their trap and the national security of the country is not compromised with. Amongst all of this, the internal politics of RAW plays a chief role.

Zorawar, Riyaz’s colleague is all set to save his job and as a result creates hurdles in the way of Riyaz. Fighting with enemies both inside and outside, Riyaz manages to accomplish each task in the end, leaving Zorawar resort to nothing but absolute disappointment.

Crackdown Web Series Voot is a not an exceptionally beautiful project that sets an objective which might seem very common, but triggers a purpose to watch the series till the end with every passing moment.

Script

The script of Crackdown Voot can undoubtedly be considered to be one of the best scripts made for web series, rather the best on Voot Select after Asur. Thrill and suspense brighten up each and every modicum of the script, making the script more and more eventful. Dialogues and diction also complement to the fullest.

Acting

Crackdown Voot Cast is well chosen. Saqib Saleem can be definitely mistaken to be the Tom Cruise of RAW. His appearance is equally bewitching as his performance. Be it convincing Divya or be it training her—Saleem is excellent in his approach and very impressive in carrying out the role of a RAW personnel. While his actions make us remember Mission: Impossible, his composure makes us nostalgic of Kay Kay Menon in Special Ops. Shriya Pilgaonkar serves to be the perfect match for both Divya and Mariyam later. Her expressions conveyed much more than her dialogues. Iqbal Khan seriously deserves a big ounce of appreciation for his portrayal of Zorwar.

Music

Amar Mohile did quite a good job in designing the music as well as the background scores of Crackdown. His melody actually made the trail of thrill persistent throughout the series with troughs and crests of climax.

Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing

Fasahat Khan did an excellent job as the DOP of Crackdown Voot Series. He utilised every frame and made it look exotic. Steven H. Bernard did a great work as the editing team of Crackdown. Visuals were at their best.

Direction

Apoorva Lakhia minimised predictability and maximised suspicion. Her directorial approach towards Crackdown was extremely minute and well-organised. Characterisation was nearly flawless and as a result no aspect of the series remained sketchy or unplanned. Jampacked thrill, exotic cinematography, breath-taking music and good acting—that’s Crackdown in a nutshell.
