Fish and Chips Web Series Review – The story has thrill, but lacks connection to reality.

The story of Hoichoi originals production Fish and Chips web series 2021 is a good satire presented with minimal efforts of overwhelming the situation with impractical circumstances. The plot is simple, with a lot of layers open for introspection. Patro is leaving for Dallas and doesn’t want his apartment to remain unattended due to his pet goldfish, Goldy. Parama and Timi, his friends as well as a married couple is entrusted with the responsibility of looking after Patro’s house and staying there till he returns in a week’s time. Even after Patro’s strict instructions, Timi keeps the windows of the flat open and a local civet takes away the goldfish and consumes it off. Timi is unemployed while his wife Parama is working and decides to get her setup in this flat so that she can avail the work from home facility. Timi decides to buy a similar goldfish as Goldy along with another goldfish to conceal the demise of Patro’s pet and also to surprise him with another goldfish. With an interplay of hilarious incidents and practical problem depictions, Fish and Chips pulls off very well.

Fish and Chips web series online has a good practical approach. With good performance and other counterparts, the series pulls off quite well.

Script

The script of Fish and Chips web series Hoichoi undoubtedly served the purpose of the show. There was no exaggeration and no unnecessary melodrama. The tension was prevalent mostly through the screenplay—but the docile flow of words reflected day-to-day conversations and the representation was beautiful. 

Acting

Apratim did a great job. He was primarily the heart and soul of Fish and Chips. His way of ruminating with no dramatic flashbacks and not a full face of extreme expressions is what made him the star of the show. Pratik was good in terms of timing. Tapasya had lesser chunk of the script on her plate. But she acted through her expressions, and that is undoubtedly worthy of appreciation.   

Music

Background scores complemented the situational satires. Sourav Biswas did a good job as the music composer of Fish and Chips.   

Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing

Cinematography by Romit Ganguly gave an eclectic angle to this absolutely simple web series. Jishnu Sen did a great job as the editor.

Direction

Presenting simplicity in the best possible way is what Fish and Chips is all about. Sounak Kar directed the simple flavour of the plot in the best way to create the platter of Fish and Chips. With limited resources, the series pulled off well.
