Dark 7 White Review – A riveting political moment of truth.

The baseline of the story of Zee5+ ALT Balaji web series Dark 7 White has a lot of convolutions. Normally web series show a lot of bravery with the content—be it Mirzapur or Sacred Games. But the speciality of Dark 7 White is that it shows a lot more bravery in the making rather than the content. Entertainment is an art and art forms one of the most important mirrors of the society.

Dark 7 White has not only proved to be a just mirror, it has also gone to the best level of transparency that questions the oppression of politicians on the freedom of speech of the common mass, rather the freedom of exercising all fundamental rights of the common mass. The series has got rawness, the series has got content and of course, the series has excellent performances.

Yudhveer is a psychopath who has the privilege of bearing the royal blood. He has a colourful sex life with Neelakshi, Greeshma and many more. But his global image had to be the serene face of his wife, Daisy. Yudhveer is shown to be the youngest Chief Minister of India. And then comes a bang—a series of bullet shots race in no time to the CM to drive him to the home of death. And then a series of flashback begins, flashbacks that are raw, real and definitely not beautiful.

Scrip

It won’t be wrong to call the script of Dark 7 White absolutely pathbreaking. And what really makes the script amazing, is the beautiful way of characterisation in each and every part of the script. Dialogues have been framed in the best possible way keeping in mind not only the characters, but also the casting members.

Acting

Jatin Sarna is as amazing as usual. His delivery of dialogues, humour breaks, sudden outbursts and of course silent manifestation of emotions and expressions—everything has its own sense of completeness. Sanjay Batra and Monika Choudhary add a good seasoning to the rawness of the series. Nidhi Singh does her part in the best possible way.

Music

Keeping in mind the backdrop of the series as well as the primary theme of revenge, a lot more attention could have been paid to the music department. Background scores could have been a little more thrilling and substantial.

Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing

Dark 7 White web series has got one of the best works of cinematography. Without using overrated smoke rings, the DOP chose to project simplicity with style. The craft of camera went at its best specially during the scenes where the balance of light and shadow has been brought about in the best possible way. The editing team has done a great job, thereby holding the consistency of the series in a beautiful way.

Direction

Sattwik Mohanty, the director of Dark 7 White showed an extremely courageous approach in directing the series. Every element has been depicted with a lot of good research work as well as connectivity to the real world. Costumes and makeup have also been chosen wisely. With good characterisation and minute direction, Dark 7 White is a series worth watching.
