Indoo Ki Jawani on Netflix is a serious question thrown to the best of comedy movies that have made their way through the world of Indian entertainment. Indira Gupta is a young girl, vivacious and copious in the process of celebrating her youth.
She is in love with a man whose soul aim is to steal her virginity. After discovering that her man is cheating on her, Indoo decides to break up with him and embrace the vulnerable world of casual relationships and one-night stands. With men from eight to eighty busy leching on Indoo, she seeks advice from her friend Sonal and Sonal in turn teaches us the most disgusting lie that one can even think of— “All men are the same, and the only thing that they are interested in is nothing but sex”.
She makes Indoo download an app and through the app Indoo gets to meet her first catch—only to know that he is one of the Pakistanis who are on loose recently in India. Another absurdity—we only say that all Pakistanis are not terrorists, but how many of us actually believe it.

Indoo Ki Jawani Trailer
Indoo Ki Jawani is designed to be a comedy with the added flavour of spy-thrill. But the story gets derailed soon after its beginning and runs on the flashy track of predictability.
Script
The script of Indoo Ki Jawani movie hardly holds any substance. Dialogues are cheesy where a little more intellect would have made a difference. And the places which deserved natural conversations, looked fabricated straight to the eyes.
Acting
Kiara fights hard to get her contradictorily written character enlivened with the craft of her acting. With a delectable screen appearance, she pulled through to a great extent, but her not-so-good comic timing held her back as well. Mallika Dua is extremely monotonous in her regular conventional portrayal of a small-town girl who mis-defines casual sexism as freedom and one-night stands as revenge stunts.
Music
The music of Indoo Ki Jawani, under the supervision of Badshah, Millind Gaba, Rochak Kohli and Mika Singh, made a serious attempt to make up for the other disappointing aspects of the film. Music sequences were shot well, with the melodies in use defining the context in the best possible way.
Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing
When the film itself lacks substance, there is no use in blaming the cinematography. However, from the perspective of camera work, a lot more could have been done by A. Vasanth. When gangster tales have such a good craft of camera, Indoo Ki Jawani surely deserved better cinematography. Editing by Ajay Sharma was nothing extraordinary as well.
Direction
Abir Sengupta as the director of the film, got digressed from the actual message that he wanted to deliver. While Indoo was hurt from knowing that her lover cheated on her, she was more than easily convinced of exercising casual sexism with apparently no will of her own. From questioning the judgemental attitude of an imaginary generalised India, to reflecting the opinion of what “all men” actually want, Indoo Ki Jawani movie is contradictory, confusing and noticeably unfunny.
