Ramalu
In the anthology, Ramalu is the best and the most engaging of all. Tharun Bhascker has written and directed it. The titular character Ramalu is a young rural woman from Telengana and is in love with Ram Chander, though they are both current and updated with the modern world especially digital world. Ramalu does not like physical relationship with Ram Chander until they are married, just to add this Ram Chander is commitment-phobic and has a weakness for fair women. Ramalu even taunts him once in front of his elder brother about his nature. Finally, as expected through his nature, breakup happens.
Now enters the other important character, Swaroopa who is head of a political party for empowerment of women. Swaroopa sees an opportunity in Ramalu and makes this situation advantageous to her to take revenge of inequality between women and men. It’s a shocking cum revengeful situation for Ramalu especially and then Swaroopa too.
XLife
The anthology Xlife story is reserved especially for Vik, the nerdy founder of a virtual reality company, who literally controls the minds of the people. He is accused of killing love in this world and churning data from the vulnerabilities of people’s lives. For him, data is the fuel for his work. The main character’s gender equality is seen throughout. As the story moves, he falls in love with Divya, an employee in the company. She eventually wins the unconditional love of Vij.
Merra
Merra, another anthology has Amala Paul playing a young wife of older-aged man Jagapathi Babu. Amala Paul is a writer and mother of 3 children and pregnant with fourth. Her husband reads a part of her story, confuses fiction with facts, as he knows about the facts of his and his wife’s reality. He suspects his wife has a relation with Abbas Ali, a painter. The fact of her life is in direct contrast to her writings, what happens in this situation is the story.
Pinky
Pinky, the last anthology is the story of Eesha Reeba. She is a married woman having an extramarital relation with ex-husband, who is awaiting his second novel to be published. His current wife is a corporate executive. The story has the theme ‘love is eternal’.

Story wise Review
The movie clearly shows how the directors have opened up to bring out a totally different and dark side of women It is quite stirring and disturbing sometimes and sometimes feels it can be real.
It’s a story as the name suggests, about how the women in their relationship are treated as puppets ‘Pitta Kathalu’. Various shades of relationship a women has , their emotional tryst with as love, betrayal, as seen by a feminist.
All in all, it gives a different perspective to same stories which were already there in the film world.
The good part of the stories, all of them is, they do not give a moral judgement about any of the behaviour, which is why it becomes watchable and keeps everyone sane till the end.
Ramalu
Ramalu especially, is a good black humour. It is a clash of modern and traditional love; the film has a style and evolves well. It has a real storytelling way. Phrases like which soap do you use? To the girl from the guy during the film, is very relatable.
XLife
Xlife does have an impressive look, but is very conscious of the of solemnity to its theme. Big picture politics is what this Xlife is about. It shows how life of a dictator can thrive in a digitally controlled world. The scenes like a businessman not from the digital world taunting him of taking the humble and real life models rather than the typical models make a mark.
Meera
Meera, the next anthology story is about how Meera is surrounded by men who are in awe of her beauty. Her husband, though aware of her beauty, is proud of her virility. Amala Paul though is satisfied somewhere in life, still has a lot of frustrations and fantasies in life, which she lets out through writing. The story is decent enough and should be appreciated for the imagination.
Pinky
Pinky rides on the fact that love is all the time present, and is the least impressive stories among the four stories.
Verdict
Pitta Kathalu Netflix is a bold set of stories, and can be watched for someone who would like to see the dark and bold side of the women.
