Bang Baang Web Series Review – Only murders and investigations can’t always build what we call “suspense”.

Platform: Zee5, Alt Balaji | Language: Hindi | Genre: Action, Investigation | Family Viewing Advised: No

Bang Baang web series 2021 starts off with a neat and clean setup. The story is based in the city of Udaipur in Rajasthan. While Rajasthan has much more to offer from desserts and sand dunes, the sand of the largest state of India has to be used as a concealer for the caky setup of a skeleton popping out suddenly. Balaji stories and their connection—immediately a past case was brought into existence.

Meera, the female protagonist of the series is shown to investigate the origin of the skeleton and also the owner of the same. It’s then revealed that Royals of Rajasthan had reported of their missing daughter Ramona Dhanraj. And of course, this skeleton, after 5 years, had to belong to her. Nothing goes unfound when it comes to a Royal family. Clues and circumstantial evidences point to Raghu, just based on a scarf that’s found on the skeleton. But then, a series of fresh murders keep piling up and Meera is desperate to prove that Raghu is behind all these murders. And the fact that Raghu actually is innocent, goes without saying.

Bang Baang Trailer

Bang Bang web series is a very old wine served in new bottle, and that too, not very well-preserved. The creators better understand by now that competition on OTT has become a tougher one, as compared to the same on television.

Script

The script of Bang Bang web series Zee5+ Alt Balaji lacks the punch that could have been an aid to the blandness of the plot. Dialogues were contextual but their delivery seemed to be quite unnatural. A little more filling was required to provide Bang Bang a decent script.

Acting

With minimal scope of delivering something out of the box, Ruhi Singh still did a comparatively better job. She put in all her might to get into the skin of Meera and execute her role in the best possible way. Mr. Faisu was also quite good as Raghu.

Music

Bang Bang had the least to do with music. With the primal foundation of the series being unstable, there’s no point in criticizing the music department.

Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing

If there’s one aspect that actually made a serious attempt to balance out the otherwise bland series, then that’s undoubtedly cinematography. Krishna Ramanan did a great job as the Director of Photography for Bang Bang. Anirudh Chavan          and Vinay Malu were equally good as the editors of Bang Bang.

Direction

Shraddha Pasi Jairath had a neat and clean approach to the series. But when it comes to suspense, mazes are required as well. The story barely had anything new in its core plot. Also, an exquisite presentation could have pulled it through. But Bang Bang lacked a good execution plan and hence the result.
