Bhoomi Movie Review – An unrealistic, imaginative film
Bhoomi Movie Hotstar of Lakshman is an imaginary view on geopolitics and its effect on the agricultural industry.
The movie begins with Bhoomi who is working as an astronaut and is an NRI , working in USA. He is a accomplished person, who has invented a machine which works in the opposite way of respiratory system, where the Carbondioxide can be inhaled instead of exhaled. This technique would be used for living and making cultivation possible on Mars.
Soon after this he learns that his hometown, Tirunelveli, is affected badly by politics on agriculture, because of which it is soon going to be an extinct place.To save his hometown, before saving mars, becomes the aim of Bhoomi. As he enters his hometown, he meets Nidhi Agarwal who is his higher secondary batch mate. The rival Ronit Roy is a typical villain who is opposing whatever Bhoomi endeavours to do.

Jeyam Ravi is the central character of the film, and the movie is watachable due to his acting skills alone.
Every act of Bhoomi is balanced by the villains reaction, there is a typical balance between them, the movie goes nowhere because of this.
It seems like lakshman has not researched the basic facts, lot of imagination everywhere, this is evident throughout the movie, many examples right from planet mars facts, villains role ; is where you come across this scenario.
Screenplay is very poor, dialogues are very childish and not worthy of movie watching, it’s good that it’s a OTT release definitely not wasting the time in theatre.
Background music is loud, and total waste, so is the mother’s role of bhoomi played by Saranya Ponvannan, the role is limited to couple of scenes and handful of dialogues.
Ronit Roy who plays the villain role, has made his debut in Kollywood. Not much innovation in his role it’s a typical corporate white suit, very devilish, mean guy who as guessed rightly knows not much of agriculture and farmers.
Lakshman, has made two more movies earlier with Jeyam Ravi, this is the third. This one is totally superficial, again lacking reality, most of all lacking a script which is not present at all, just for the information; lakshman is the writer too, for Bhoomi.
Sometimes as audience we also feel, such a serious issue of agriculture and politics is not handled well, and dealt very shabbily. Lakshman has not been able to do justice to the script in many ways, which is not a good mark for him.
The movie has released at the right time when there is a current, biggest issue for farmers, which the movie can bank on.
Also the film has a scene on Covid and the pandemic situation which is very relatable in the current times.
Verdict
A very reasonable watch. One may watch for the idea of the film.
