Bell Bottom Movie Review – Reconstructed the 80’s & mixed with comedy, Drama spy cum crime .

Bell Bottom is a spy crime cum comedy thriller. In one line it can be called as a 100 percent entertainer. It has the main components of entertainment .i.e. emotion and comedy.

Divakar aka rishab is a detective at heart and cop by profession, all thanks to his father who coaxes him to be a cop like him. Fate gives him a chance to investigate a cop case which he takes up for his detective abilities. During solving the case he meets several characters who make the case more twisted. During this time, he also meets kusuma aka Haripriya, who is involved in illegal liquor trafficking. How does he fall in love with Kusuma? Would he be able to solve the mystery? Can he succeed in his passion?

Haripriya and Rishab are popular names in Sandalwood, anything but only good movie was expected when they teamed up in this flick.Rishab as a hero is the highlight of the movie, his performance is on par and there is no doubt about it. We have never seen Rishab in this kind of role, earlier so it is a new role for him and new avatar of him for us. Haripriya has given her best, proved yet again that she is versatile actress, She played the role of gutsy and playful character in this movie, and played it to the “T”. Yoga raj has made a special appearance which is cherry on the cake.

Direction

Jayathirtha has made an unconventional movie with thorough entertainment, the movies look of 80’s right from the costumes, visuals, back ground score, lets you travel back to time. It is a beautiful escape from current run of the mill movies. It’s very evident that movie does not catch up in the start but the director could not have done much about it, still the suspense of the story is sustained and kept intact, and keeps us glued to know what’s next, the rest half of movie is engaging and reveals the plot.

A comic event during the investigation by rishab is again the most entertaining part of the movie. Several characters that we come across in the movie during investigation form the bulk of the movie; all the other actors including Pramod shetty, Pd satish, Sujay shastry have given a commendable performance. Little nuances about the image of those times are definitely worth a watch. Pop event, dialogues and idols of that 80’s era is a visual treat. Casting of movie is also one of the best parts. It is movie with retro theme kept intact throughout. It’s a different kind of film which we have seen of late.

Music

Ajneesh Loknath’s background music is melodious and walks us through the 80’s times.

Cinematography

Cinematography gives us a familiar feel of 1980’s and is nostalgic

Make up

Make up is reminiscent of the retro times, and costumes makes the characters come alive.

Verdict

Bell bottom is a total entertainer, apt to be seen with family. Good dose of drama, comedy, thrill for a weekend. Must watch movie at least for the different kind, as it is.
