Bhaag Beanie Bhaag Netflix web series 2020 delineates in the best possible way, the journey of a woman who chases her dream of becoming a stand-up comedian. The series begins with the reminiscence of Beanie Bhatnagar, when she narrates the yester years of her life, when fun was the vehicle of life and happiness was the driver. Beanie as a girl used to sing and dance just like most of the girls at her age. But one day, she found the dream of her life after seeing Shekhar Suman. She dreamt of being the funniest one on stage and of course in the room. But as Dr. Kalam rightly said, “Dreams are to be seen with open eyes”.
Slowly under the not so rough and tough family pressure and lack of focussed determination on her part, Beanie chooses a 9-5 job, along with a boyfriend who turns workaholic after getting into job. Beanie finds that she has chosen a safe and secure life, along with a stable life partner. But in the process, she has given up on her dreams. And then we get reminded of countless movies like Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana—the bride elopes to chase her dreams. And as the name suggest, Beanie keeps chasing her dreams until she finally finds the aim of her life, standing with her, on stage in front of the microphone, with claps and appreciation showering from the audience—in this romance-comedy series, comedy outsmarts romance and becomes the backbone of the life of Beanie.

Bhaag Beanie Bhaag is a known plot. Yet it manages to win hearts due to its exemplary execution and performances.
Script
The script of the web series doesn’t actually invest a lot of creativity and emphasis on the dialogue framing. Comedy is hungry for a good script and its dilution for commercial profits actually makes the art of comedy a cheap book of jokes, with no room left for intellectuality. It has not compromised on comedy, and that’s the best part of its script.
Acting
Swara Bhaskar is too good in carrying herself on stage and as a confused individual before she understands what life has planned for her. She has portrayed the demarcations between the two phases of her life in the best possible way. After Jab Tak Hai Jaan, it’s absolutely a treat to watch him in such a meaty part of Bhaag Beanie Bhaag. Ravi Patel is equally amazing. Dolly Singh, a young YouTuber, made her first Netflix debut and was absolutely outstanding. She was the perfect choice to play the critic in a best friend.
Music
As far as the music of the series is concerned, Bhaag Beanie Bhaag could have had a little more of it in terms of quality. However, the other aspects balance it out.
Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing
Editing and cinematography were absolutely phenomenal for Bhaag Beanie Bhaag. The perfect balance of light and shadow was maintained in a very good way for the stage shows. Editing made the story crisp and clear to look at.
Direction
Debbie Rao, Ishaan Nair and Abi Varghese as the directors of Beanie did an excellent job. Their minute approach toward the direction took the series to another level. They focussed on comedy and hence in the process did not make fun of the series itself. Nonetheless, Bhaag Beanie Bhaag is an excellent series to watch.
