Anaganaga O Athidhi Review – Unconventional, Melodramatic, and Dull narrative Movie.
Anaganaga o Athidi is a story about how a guest who visits a family is instrumental in bringing entire change of their lives. It is a Kannada movie remake” Aa Karalla Raathiri”, Directed by Dayal himself there too.
Story
Subbaiah aka Ananda Chakrapani and wife Annapurna aka Veena Sunder are poor, and aged couple. They have an adult, grown up daughter Malli aka Payal Rajput . All the three people are different in their likes and dislikes and above all are dissatisfied the way thing are in their lives.
Once a fortune-teller tells the family, that a visit of stranger; who is Chaitanya Rajput aka Srinivas to their home is going to change their lives. As told by fortune forecaster the stranger does arrive, and the situation changes in terms of fortune. The movie has elements like lust ,Greed, etc., Why Srinivas has come to this family? What happens to Malli’s life forms the story of movie?

Review
Anaganga o Athidi is a simple, straight story, watching this movie is to see how each scene unfolds, not much of suspense is there to reveal anything, but there is an element of suspense on how human nature of a person reveals itself, arrival of stranger too does not unfold the fortunes soon or any change on story is seen. Post interval movie picks up especially in climax, drama, and punch dialogues about the human nature are well captured, it’s a worth of time to wait till end as that’s when the action and drama comes up and movie seems good.
It has a message. And is delivered too, though a little slow.
This is a Payal Rajput movie, Lot of unexpected twists are seen in movie especially in second half, Payal got an opportunity to display her acting skills in the movie ,she is seen acting with so many emotions in a single film, greed, deceit, lust etc. She has a raw and rustic look in movie, unlike her glam avatar.
Dubbing artist for Payal Rajput deserves a special mention, slang is right for the movie.
Chaitanya Krishna has done an okay job, not much of role in this movie for him.
The supporting artists have done a good job and not much to talk about them because of limited role.
Cinematography, Music, Production
Cinematography is redundant but still we may see is good as this all managed in a strict budget of the movie, background music is good and carries us silently but effectively all along the movie. Village based slang dialogues are a highlight of movie.
Direction could have been better as the story is simple and straight, director has done just a fair job.
Verdict
The movie is a dull one, one time watch .It is unique in terms of story alone but direction is also not great ;just a passable one. Initial half does not grow at all, so patience is must if you want to see something better in this movie. Predictable dialogues and scenes is a minus, definitely not a commercial film. It is a 132 minutes watch , Avery short movie.
