Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya Review – Saga of a Common man’s revenge
Mahesh (Satyadev) is a happy go lucky artist who does not like entering into arguments. On the opposite hand, his girlfriend Swati (Hari Chandana) leaves him and marries somebody else. At this point, Satyadev gets embroiled in a petty fight with Jogi and gets thrashed. He is humiliated and abused ahead of his town folks. Furious with this incident, Mahesh resolves to take revenge from Jogi, only to realise that he has fallen for Jogi’s sister Jyothi (Roopa Koduvayur). Is Mahesh able to avenge himself? That is the rest of the story.
Venkatesh Maha sets the story of Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya movie at a hilltop Araku Vale. Uma Maheswara Rao is that the valley’s top artist, whose expertise lies in taking passport size pictures. Incidentally, this is also a source of humor within the film
Given that it is a small town, everyone knows everyone. And their life is interconnected. Natives are aware of an angry exchange between friends, that shortly spills over and influences everybody in the city.
Now, what is extraordinary about this humble story of a person seeking revenge, that merits remakes? There is not much at stake. No one is killed, and neither is any irreversible injury inflicted on the hero or his family. It is simply a random street fight and the people concerned in it have a choice to not drag it and carry on with their lives.
It is not specifically a story for a blockbuster. Mahesh had avoided many a confrontation all his life. Then why all of a sudden this revenge streak? It comes across as a dramatic leap in his character arc. However, as we delve further it is observed that the fight invoked a primal instinct in him. It touched a raw nerve, that for years, he did not know even existed in him. He needed to face up to his bully and prove that while he could be a textbook folk entertainer, he would not take it lying down when his honor is at stake.
Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya movie on Netflix may be a terribly personal journey of a person, who learns that he can’t patch up along with his bully unless he proves his strength. And within the method, he conjointly learns how to manage his emotions and techniques to surpass each in photography and a street fight.

Cinematography
The locations are very good and special mention to the awe-inspiring camerawork that showcases the film in natural surroundings. Music is great and the background score was even a notch higher. The lyrics, production style, and dialogues are superb.
Acting
Satya Dev, who has systematically chosen his roles lately, is a solid match to Fahadh Faasil. Even supposing you’re reminded of the latter’s mannerisms in a very few scenes, Satya still makes his character distinctive in his own manner. One can’t complain concerning Satya Dev’s effortlessly sensible performance.
Direction
Coming to the director Venkatesh Maha. When compared to his debut film Kancharapalem, there has been a lot of expectations with this project. However, it can be said that he has done a passable job with the remake. His characters, performances, and narration within the first hour are superb. However, the film slows down in the last half, making the experience boring for the audience.
