Soorarai Pottru Movie Review –  Suriya’s yet another fine work with an inspiring story

Soorarai Pottru Amazon Prime is a fictional version of the book “simply fly” written by G R Gopinath the founder of Deccan airlines. The film begins with his journey of being a common man fighting for the cause of his local village. Nedumaaran also has experience in the armed forces and chooses early retirement. He had a big dream to start his own airline. Soorarai Pottru is a perfect example of pointing the important details of the journey of Nedumaaran played by Suriya.

In his personal life, a beautiful relationship blossoms with Sundari played by Aparna. It takes over, to lose the focus of the humongous goal of the man and the hurdles he faces in his ways to achieve his dream. This has a lot to do with the excellent screenplay of Sudha Kongara and Shalini Ushadevi.  They have adapted the written material with such precision and technique. This would be one of the main reasons why this film will stay with you for a long time.

Many life-altering moments will make you  fall in love with the characters . Of course as analytical mindset sets in, several details you might find exaggerated as a creative choice, as they are communicated oddly. Suriya, who’s regional creative choices are responsible for some of the biggest blockbusters in Hindi cinema,  is the man who lately has been going through a rough patch of films. His films are critically acclaimed and performed ok financially. The versatility of this actor to convince as an angry man, and to also come across as a simple person from the village to a capable member of the armed forces is commendable. Suriya is exceptional, his performance is important and meets teh criteraia of one of our favorites in this decade.

GR Gopinath is a representation of breaking the norm.  Entering into an industry with limited players and meant to be a luxury. Nedumaaran played by Suriya represents exactly what they set out to do. Perfromances by the supporting cast of the film are great and share such great impact moments in the film. Paresh Rawal plays the role of Paresh Goswami, the entrepreneur who owns Jazz airlines and is an inspiration for Nedumaaran. They say, never meet your heroes or you are bound to be disappointed. Paresh Goswami is a negative character and he is unapologetic about it. The character accesses a constant impact on the rise of Nedumaaran and his dream. A combination of both fear and ego of a boy from a village could have such a lasting impact on the aviation industry.

Aparna as Sundari is such a firecracker performer. The chemistry she shares with Nedumaaran, the decision both of them , tomake a name for themselves before they get married,  acknowledging the partnership that will be essential for reaching new heights. She is truly brilliant with the acting.

The cinematography of Niketh Bommireddy and the beautiful musical by GV Prakash Kumar just contribute perfect technical qualities to enhance this inspirational story. As the lines narrated the Sparrow can never be an Eagle but my son will break that. This film is so emotional and inspiring for all the new upcoming entrepreneurs. Script

This script was written by sudha kongara who is a director and also a screenwriter for predominantly works for the Tamil cinema. She won the Filmfare Award for the Best Director for the movie Irudhi Suttru. Soorarai Pottru is of the greatest work done.

Acting

Suriya who played the role of Nedumaaran has done an amazing job by justifying the character. Suriya is one of the top actors in Tamil cinema. Aparna Balamurali who played the role of sundrai gave her best to the film. Not to forget the co-actors who have also done amazing work and made the film worth watching.

Music

The music was composed by GV Prakash Kumar gave the film more value with great songs. He is also known as Isai Thalapathy.

Cinematography, Special Effects &Editing

The Cinematography was done by Niketh Bommireddy Who did a great job and the editing was done by sathis suriya who work in all the south Indian cinema industry of Tamil, Telugu and Kannada language and also for some Hindi films.
