Sandwiched Forever Review – A sitcom with high possibilities
Sandwiched Forever Sony Liv is majorly a tale of co-incidences. Sameer and Naina form a young urban married couple. They get an apartment for stay and find that they are just in between their respective parents. Thus, the term—Sandwiched, comes into play. The bride’s father is strict and down with principles. It goes without saying that he doesn’t approve of the neither the groom nor the marriage. Naina’s mother is a little on the softer side. Sameer’s parents, the Shastris, hail from Kanpur and are glazed with simplicity. Sameer is a game designer, while Naina is from the sports background. She is a badminton player. Sandwiched Forever could have bloomed to a potential sitcom. But then there’s a huge misuse of resources and that’s exactly what makes the 15-episode series fall apart.

Sandwiched Forever Trailer
Sandwiched Forever lacks the substance that is quintessential to tickle laughter for the viewers of this date.
Script: The script of Sandwiched Forever is not at all an eventful script. Although it has the apt diction, the dialogue framing required much more attention than it actually got. It has to be kept in mind that comedy demands a script of very high quality. Especially if it is a sitcom, the level of script should be maintained with a lot of care and caution. Lack of a good script planted the first nail in the coffin of Sandwiched Forever.
Acting: Atul Kulkarni was as amazing as he always is. But this web series is an absolutely insignificant stoppage in the journey of his career. The same goes with Ahana Sharma. She was good with her delivery, but her expressions went in vain because of the blandness in script and lack of substance in the plot. Lubna Salim and Divya Seth Shah were also quite good on their parts. Overall performance of the casting members was good.
Music: Music could have lifted up the execution of Sandwiched Forever. But with mere sound effects that even comedy shows despise these days, the series sinks more. The mood, the flavour of the show does not go well with the background scores implemented in Sandwiched Forever.
Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing: If movies and web series filming gang wars and dark shades of life can have such good work of camera, a sitcom with such potential could have worked wonders in the area of cinematography. But there is no extra-ordinary role of camera in the series. On the contrary even the ordinary work if implemented well could have taken the series to a good level. Editing required a lot more sharpness and definitely Sandwiched Forever doesn’t demand to be a 15-episode-long web series. Sitcoms demand intellectual editing, and as far as this sow is concerned, it definitely lacked that level of editorial approach.
Direction: Director is an actor for all characters. Before having the capacity to provide direction to the cast and crew of a production, a director must have a vision. A vision of how a particular scene might looked, how a particular dialogue might sound, what impact a particular dialogue can have on the audience. As far as Sandwiched Forever is concerned, Rohan Sippy primarily lacked that vision. In terms of minuteness, it is essential to point out that the resources available were under-utilised to a great degree.
