Nokol Heere Web Series on Hoichoi brings back Damayanti, a passionate soul to solve mystery in the form of a private investigator. Dipanvita has come to her home where her father Sushil Maitra lives and declares that she wants a divorce from her husband Pratap, who is a potential employee and the new VP of Sushil’s company—Maitra Engineering. She is disturbed and under the notion that Pratap will kill her. Then suddenly she sees that Pratap enters the house and before Sushil could know anything, Dipanwita shoots her husband in another room using her dad’s gun.

On getting arrested, Dipu (Dipanwita) claims that had she not killed Pratap, he would have killed her and she had shot him in self-defence. But when the police searches the crime scenes, no weapon were found that Pratap could have carried. Instead, a fake diamond ring was recovered from his pocket. Damayanti is all set to unravel the mystery and has an encounter with Ramanuj, a genius.

Ramanuj is the husband of Suchismita, Dipu’s elder sister. Both Suchismita and Dipu loved someone else, but their father stood to be an ultimate control freak and got them married to men of his choice and company. Neither Ramanuj, nor Pratap were bad at heart. But then, Ramanuj, a brilliant individual met with an accident with lower half of his body paralyzed. The sexual incapability of Ramanuj post the accident re-ignited the love of Suchismita for her childhood lover Satyaki.

Satyaki was the son of Sushil’s neighbour, with whom, Sushil’s wife Sumitra had an affair. When subjected to the mental pressure imposed by Sushil, Sumitra commits suicide and Satyaki’s dad became a patient of mental imbalance in response to this incident. Out of guilt and fear of getting things revealed, Sushil brought Satyaki at home and took charge of his expenses and education. The story takes its pace, not to find who the murderer is, but to find the mastermind who used human psychology and manipulation as the most prominent weapon in this game.

Nokol Heere delineates the story of a genius—who falls prey to the web of frustration and decides to take revenge for what destiny had done to him.

Script

The script of the series is not extraordinary, but definitely contextual to the level of perfection. The script was eventful with almost no loose ends. Dialogues were framed in a very good way, complementing the characterisation of Nokol Heere watch online.

Acting

Tuhina Das has done an excellent job as Nokol Heere. Her dialogue delivery, expressions and strategic movements suite best to the character. As compared to the 2020 release Damayanti web series on Hoichoi, Tuhina reflected even more grace and ease through her performance. Indrasish Roy and Soumya Banerjee were equally good or even better than the first series. Rajnandini Paul, unlike her recent series Turu Love, was far more expressive and gave a balanced shade to her character of Dipanwita. Kamalika was good in her approach towards the role of Panchali. But what is most shocking is while Biswajit Chakraborty had a much notable part to play, the name of such a senior actor went missing from the main credit screens for every episode. When such is the case, none can even expect Madhurima Ghosh, playing the defence lawyer for Dipanwita would have any room left in the credit screen for her brilliant performance. And in this case, expectation of the audience has been duly fulfilled.

Music

Nabarun Bose’s work as the music composer got truly enhanced as compared to the earlier web series Damayanti. The background scores had the flavour of thrill and suspense in the best possible way.

Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing

Cinematography in the Hoichoi original productions Nokol Heere showed excellent craft of camera by Souvik Basu as the DOP. Sumit Chowdhury has also done a good work as the editor of Nokol Heere.Direction: Rohan Ghose and Aritra Sen undoubtedly made a good pair as the directors of Nokol Heere. But there are many aspects in which the series could have given more attention to. Damayanti suddenly became very sure that Radharani was hiding inside the house of Ramanuj and Suchismita. But what made her think so? Also, by only getting Pratap killed, what kind revenge did Ramanuj actually seek? All these questions were left unanswered. Yet, going by the intricacy of plot and a psychological thriller without “split personality” being possible in the entertainment industry of India after Baishe Srabon has finally been possible.
