Naxalbari Zee5 Web Series Review Pakaoo

Naxalbari Web Series Review – Is it what it looks to the naked eye or is there a larger plan?

The baseline of the story of Naxalbari Web Series will time-travel us straight into the gruesome world of India’s Naxalite movement that has affected thousands of innocent (and some not-so) lives for the past few decades. Packed with thrill, action and relationship turmoil, this riveting web-series, consisting of nine episodes, offers a grippingly renewed outlook into the longstanding insurgency through the lens of Raghav Joshi, a STF agent playing the role of the main protagonist here.

The opening is sort-of theatrical with a colossal blast in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli which claims the life of the MLA of a ruling party. The mastermind behind the blast seems to be a Naxal leader, Binu Attram which opens a pandora’s box, laying the carpet for the entry of our protagonist, cop Raghav Joshi, whose CP father wants him to train himself on this case and learn the ropes of operative policing. Raghav and his tea initiate the investigation on this big-ticket case, little knowing that they will eventually get enmeshed in the deep-dark world of India’s red uprising which has spread its iron clads from the deep jungles into the big metros. What unfolds is a seemingly realistic portrayal of this grisly world, as we march straight into the deep concentrates of the Naxalites along with the forces.

Naxalbari Release Date

The plot of Naxalbari Zee5 is age-old. We have heard about it, read about it and also seen it in different shapes and sizes. What in fact makes Naxalbari special is the realism with which it portrays this ghastly world; the events unfolding in front of us from the viewpoint of the security forces who have oathed to curtail this uprising from its grassroots.

Script: It will be absolutely within the rights to call the script of Naxalbari breathtaking and eye-opening. Packed with heart-wrenching scenes and crisp sharp dialogues, Naxalbari easily portrays the accurate picture of the Naxalite insurgency with a twist, this time not through the lens of the Naxalites but the security forces. Appropriate use of colloquial words and a multitude of languages have only added to the preciseness of the script, rendering a beautiful undertone to the web series. There is not one dull moment in this edge-of-the-seat thriller and with frequent twists and turns, the plot grips us with fervent intrigue till the very end.

Acting: Actor Rajeev Khandelwal is brilliant as usual, perhaps throwing in one of his most memorable performances as the spilt rich city brat who transforms elegantly into an effective agent to phenomenally solve the high- end case. The other actors are equally impressive in the portrayal of their characters – whether it is Tina Dutta as Ketki or Sreejita Dey as the female naxal or Satyadeep Mishra as Pahan or Aamir Ali as Keswani.

Music: Paresh Shah’s fascinating background score adds spice and sets the perfect tone to this high-octane thriller, perfectly complementing the charged action sequences and the brilliant direction. It sets the mood for the gripping web series and keeps the curiosity of the audience high, till the last possible frame.

Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing: Hari Nair and Modhura Palit have done a brilliant job as the directors of photography, capturing the essence of the plot and successfully portraying what the director, Partho Mitra had envisioned.

Direction: Partho Mitra, the director of Naxalbari is famous for helming television shows like Bade Acche Lagte Hain, Kasamh Se and Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar and has yet again showed an excellent approach to present the story and execute the complex plot with exquisite brilliance. With a perfect eye for acute details, he is simply excellent at the portrayal of this web-series– it can fairly be said that never before, has such a war against the Naxals been shown with this amount of realism on the silver screen, let alone the OTT platform.
