Naringa Mithai Movie Review – A romantic saga of a different type.
Naaringa Mithai is a dubbed version of Tamil movie Sillu Karupatti. It is a compilation of four love stories, a romantic saga of different types.
The first story is ‘pink bag’. It is a teenage love story where romance blossoms between teenagers , a rag picker Maanja and a high class rich girl mitti. Pink bag is what gets them close. The girl in search of the pink bag in the garbage place gets the teenager close. The story is run of the mill, but the good performances by the artists Rahul and Sara Arjun makes it watchable. Tesh’s performance is also commendable.
Second love story is ‘Kaaka Kadi’. It is about the unconventional love story, unconditional and a very different and beautiful love story. Crow is the metaphor for love in this story. Mukhilan is a meme maker, who is diagnosed with the cancer. He is engaged to get married soon. Hearing about his disease his engagement falls apart. During this time, he meets his cab mate in ola share ride, Madhu , who is a fashion designer, in whom he finds solace. Director has ensured the tact to show the most serious subjects in a very easy to handle way, all with love!
Third love story is ‘Turtles’, starring Yashoda and Navneethan. The story builds up with the romance involving binoculars where, Navneethan sees Yashoda agreeing to kids wish to play on the slide. The highlight of the film is it is very emotionally relatable and can be related in everyday conversations.
The dialogues with pun in a very unintentional objectionable way is good. The scenes are humorous in a good way. Not being judgmental throughout is again a good thing of the movie.
The fourth love story is ‘Hey Ammu’. A married couple Amudhini and Dhanpal are in a situation where they have lost the spark. What situation brings back the long last spark in their relation is the sory, many of the heavy domestic issues handled with ease.

The film is even toned throughout. The cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa, Abhinandan Ramanujam, Vijay Kartik Kannan, and Yamini. The cast of the film has performed exceptionally well, samuthikarni has excelled as charming husband, Mukhilan as a vulnerable person is really good. Sunaina and Leela Samson have performed without any restrictions and hesitations.
The movie displays not only the love at first sight, a typical love story but with a twist between aged couples, a teenage love story and then a love story which is about long lost spark. Most unexpected places where the love blossoms is the message across the film, it covers love across its glory, in all means.
It is an assortment of love stories, can be definitely enjoyed, provided one enjoys the unconventional and conventional both kind of love stories.
Verdict
Interesting compilation of love stories, can be enjoyed with family.
