The story of Zee5 originals production Lahore Confidential movie 2021 is filled with thrill and suspense. Ananya is a desk job employee of RAW, who is emotionally sensitive and aspires to write a book on the poets of Pakistan, drawing inspiration from her passion towards Urdu poetry. She is single with least interest in men around her and of course, her mom is quite worried about her marriage. Just then, another opportunity opens for her. RAW decides her to send to Pakistan as an employee of the Indian High Commission in order to extract information from Rauf, an important soul in Pakistan who organises parties and has the knowledge of ISI and Taliban agents. Rauf is also interested in poetry and hence the job was given to Ananya. Yukti, another agent of RAW already stays in Pakistan as an employee of Indian High Commission. Ananya begins with a smooth entry in Rauf’s life, where both of them are shown to get emotionally invested in each other. Ananya gets to know that Rauf’s family had died in the Pearl Hotel blast while he was abroad. And hence, Rauf decided to investigate in his own way about the ISI agents, bombers of Lashkar-e-Taiba and also the agents of RAW who plan serial blasts in Pakistan. He stood for no religion, but he stood against the clandestine game of blood. But at the end, it is revealed that Rauf has been using Ananya to extract information from her as well as Yukti. He himself was none but Wasim Ahmed Khan and his family with a wife and two children were living happily elsewhere. Ananya gets Rauf killed and takes over his way of investigation with the code name of Mrs. Kazmi, in order to help RAW with the information.

Script

The script of Lahore Confidential movie Zee5 suited the plot in the best possible way. It was not overloaded with a heap of Urdu terminologies, which become quite difficult to comprehend for all those who doesn’t have a connection with Urdu. The script had the perfect balance of drama, silence, dialogues as well as colloquial diction. 

Acting

It was a treat to the eyes to watch Richa Chadha and her performance is potential enough to remind the audience of Section 375. She is definitely one of the underrated gems in Bollywood. Arunoday Singh gave everything to the character of Rauf. He was charming and absolutely gave no reason of not believing him in any way. Karishma Tanna had a brisk role to play. But she managed well with her brilliant timing.       

Music

The music and background scores of Lahore Confidential lifted the spirit of the movie to another level. Sometimes music becomes the best catalyst and Lahore Confidential is a burning example of such an instance.   

Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing

With Karthik Ganesh as the DOP, cinematography came out in an exquisite shell of soft light and shade. Nothing too gaudy would have suited the ambience the film wanted to build. And the use of calm and composure in terms of cinematography was executed in an excellent way. Nikhil Parihar has also worked well as the editor of Lahore Confidential movie watch online.

Direction

Kunal Kohli had a minute approach as far as the direction of the film is concerned. His attention to detail and the decision of not showing the dark side of Rauf even towards the end gave an eclectic angle to the film. Overall, Lahore Confidential is undoubtedly a recommendable option for the viewers.
