Android Kattappa Review – A Sweet and Endearing Telugu version of Molly wood’s Android Kunjappan

In Android Kattappa Movie, the robot which is gifted by a son to his father is the base of the story. It revolves between the love story of Subramanian and the half-Japanese heroine Hitomi. As per the reports the film is based on the story of English film Robot and Frank (2012).

The most attractive part of the movie is the character of the Robot. The team announced that the robot character is played by Sooraj Thalekkad. Bhaskar (Suraj) is a single parent to his son Subramanian (Soubin Shahir).

Subramanian is a mechanical engineer who lives in a remote village. Bhaskar is very old fashioned, orthodox, strict and conservative parent. He believes in old fashioned parenting methods and thinks that is the only way to up bring his son. He believes in communist thoughts. Bhaskar believe in very old methods and refuses to use basic electronic appliance in his day to day activities also. Though he has a very big mansion, his out dated beliefs do not allow him to live in it. After persuading his father, Subramanian goes to Russia to pursue his dream job.

Subramanian arranges a maid to take care of his father in absence. With Bhaskar’s orthodox and strict rules no maid is ready to work in his house for long time. After hearing all these stories Subramanian is fed up and he wants to find a permanent solution for his this problem.

One fine day he returns back from Russia with a solution. He brings an Android Robot to solve all this problems. In the mean time, Subramanian finds the love of his life. He falls in love with a Japanese national Hitomi. Getting his orthodox father’s approval for his love is a big task and how Subramanian convinces his father is the rest of the story. How Bhaskar getst emotionally attached to the robot is yet another angle.

Script

The script of the story is very well written. The relationship between the son and father is really well delivered. The characterizations are built very well. The way the story progress is really appreciated. The robot is the main attraction of the movie.

Acting

The performances of the actors are really appreciable. You cannot stop appreciating the efforts of Sooraj Thalekkad who played the role of robot. In fact audience doesn’t believe that the robot role is played by a human being. He has done a very great job in this role. Suraj who played a father role also kept great efforts by acting as an old fashioned father. His acting skills steal the show. He has a great comedy sense. Kendy Zirdo who played the role of Hitomi really pulled her well. She has shown as a daughter of malyali-japanese couple. So, she had many Malayalam dialogues in the movie. Though she played a Japanese role she hails from Arunachal Pradesh she has done an appreciable job. Soubin Shahir who played Subramanian role also performed really well.

Music

Bijibal has given an excellent background score for the movie. You will time-travel into the past with this music. There are many hit songs from this movie.

Sanu Varghese is the cinematographer for this movie. Neural Abdullah is the editor for the movie.

Direction

Rates Balakrishnan Prodigal is really appreciable. He got inspired by the English movie. Directing a sci-fi comedy drama is not an easy task. But he has done really well. During the Malayalam movie shoot in Russia some important scences of the movie are directed by St Petersburg. The Kerala nature will mesmerize you. The movie is related to the current scenarios of the society. You can watch the movie happily along with your family. There is an underlying message that got delivered from the movie.
