Aakaasam Nee Haddhu Ra movie Review- A Sensibly made emotional biopic journey

Aakaasam Nee Haddu Raa Amazon Prime is a movie directed by Sudha Kongara of (GURU movie fame). It is a biopic inspired by Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath and based on the book “Simply Fly”. A lot of promotion has been done for this movie.

Retired Army captain Chandra Mahesh aka suriya harbors a dream of a domestic airline which is affordable. Paresh aka paresh rawal is the negative character in the movie, who is an arch rival and makes the life difficult for Maha in making his dream a reality.The journey of Maha with accompanying people and situations is what “Aakaasam nee haddu raa” about.

Direction

As it is a biopic, movie’s success largely depended on the strong skills of story, screenplay, direction, and undoubtly the acting skills. Sudha Kongara has proven now she can make a movie where she can churn out emotions into a beautiful film like, Aakasam Nee Haddu Raa.

The opening of the movie where Maha has to opt for landing in a military land, the train sequence and meeting of the lead couple…. all these scenes set the narration of the movie in right place and gets the flow of film in a smooth, silky manner, as a natural course! It shows up clearly how Sudha has extensively worked on the script before the movie was made and dramatized the real story into a movie to the core. Women empowerment message is also evident here and there in the movie.

Another outstanding plot in the movie is the time, when the flashback of Suriya is shown, as it forms the basis for the strong character of his role as Maha.

Performances

Suriya nails the role of Maha, excellent performance , and one of the best roles so far! Suriya has emoted all those emotions through out the movie like a true pro, as he isAll in All he cas given a 100% involvement towards the movie, which makes him the real hero outside the movie too, for his performance, Great job Suriya.

Aparna Balamurali has played her role as small town girl , her role as clear and self reliant personality suits her much. Her scenes with actor suriya as wife and husband are excellent where both have done full justice to their roles, and an awesome chemistry between them is clearly seen through out the movie, She fits into the role perfectly.

Paresh Rawal is a versatile actor who has given his best and done an awesome job as a negative character, he touches the core of negativity in his role as Paresh which brings life to his character.

Mohan babu’s role is though a limited one , but it is memorable and outstanding.

Cinematography and Music

Music by GV Prakash is average but scores more when it is as back ground music, cinematography looks very realistic.

Editing could have been better, as somewhere along the movie drags and feels nowhere.

Aakaasam nee haddu raa is a 2 hour 30 mins watch. It is an inspired story and serves as a great inspiration for youth, definitely a must watch for Diwali season. As it has been made in Tamil as well, the movie has Tamil nativity to it. It is an emotional drama movie so does not score on entertainment much. Romance is limited due to the story of the film.
