Meka Suri Movie Review: A humdrum retribution story

In Meka Suri movie, Suri (Abhinay) is a sheep butcher who is known as Meka Suri in his village. He falls in love with Rani(Sumaya) who works with a dreaded criminal Appala Naidu. Many within the village, as well as Appaa Naidu, attempt to woo Rani, however, she marries Suri. The twist within the tale arises once Rani enters into a physical relationship with Appala Naidu, entirely surprising Suri. The couple gets into a big fight. As the plot develops further, Rani gets killed. Who killed Rani? Why did she consent to sleep with Appala Naidu? Who is behind all this? That forms the remainder of the story.

There is nothing new in Meka Suri movie regarding the story. It is an old revenge drama repackaged in a new way. Whereas the trailer incorporates a raw and macabre look to it, the movie itself is commanded by a plotline that is thin.

The dangerous boy villain turns smart for his better half. On her death, he goes back to his previous ways, which is nothing new. These styles of revenge dramas have been explored a great deal in the Telugu movie industry. On the surface of it, it looks a bit staged and exhausting. The involvement of Naxalites however, does appear to possess a bit of charm.

Thus, while there is nothing new in Meka Suri movie on Zee5 regarding the story, the acting and the action scenes keep the movie alive. From the design and feel of the movie, you realize that it is a great deal of Tamil film influence.

Acting

Saumya fits the bill for an innocent-looking village girl, with a slightly chubby appearance. She plays her character with ease, even though there is nothing spectacular enacting a Nurse.

Music

The music by Saroja is typical. Nothing stands out musically or background wise.

Direction

Coming to the director Trinadh’s work, his plan is spectacular and has set Meka Suri film in exceedingly solid stead. He starts the storytelling and introduces his characters well. However, to dramatize the narrative, an excessive amount of violence and drama is added. That was not required in the slightest degree.
