Khuda Haafiz Review – A predictable fare, interesting only in parts.

Khuda Haafiz movie story on Hotstar starts with the sweetness of friendly repartee of the 80s. Software engineer Sameer visits Nargis’s house with his family for fixing their marriage. With a very common setup of mutual exchange of smiles and green signal to the parents, courtship, and marriage follows with a romantic number. The year 2008 marks a grand recession and just with a reality check, the newlywed couple shifts to Nomad, a fictional city in Middle-East. Nargis gets her job first and is compelled to move to Nomad. But on reaching there, she is forcefully abducted by a group of men to an unidentified location. She managed to inform Sameer about it over the phone but the call disconnects midway, leaving everyone in absolute fear and distress. Sameer then heads to Nomad. Usman Ali Murad, the local cabbie assists him along with some officials of the Nomad government.

Khuda Haafiz movie 2020 story stands on absolute predictability. However, some aspects of the film made it watchable.

Script

The script of Khuda Haafiz movie 2020 is one of the major areas which required a lot of analysis and research work. From the very begin, portrayal of a fictional city eased out the execution of the film. But in the long run, the diction of the characters spilled water on the hard work invested by the cast as well as the crew. The diction of people speaking at time, and that too in the middle-east, is not worked upon. As a result, characterisation falls very weak as the film makes its progress.

Acting

Vidyut Jammwal stands to be the primary or perhaps it won’t be wrong to say here, the only casting member in Khuda Haafiz full movie who takes the film off at a different level when he begins to emote. He portrays so well that it seems that Sameer and Nargis had a different depth of love, much more than a one-song-courtship and then marriage. Shivaleeka Oberoi, though a fine actress, has not been wisely utilised. However, Annu Kapoor did a good job though his work in similar roles has entertained us since a long time.

Music

Under the supervision of Amar Mohile and Mithun Sharma, the music and background scores of Khuda Haafiz took the tension in the film to another level. Music is one of those components of Khuda Haafiz which actually substantiated the story told through the events and reactions of the characters.

Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing

With Jitan Harmeet Singh as the DOP, the work of camera really gave a treat to the eyes. There was a huge scope to capture good cinematographic moments and it was utilised to the possible extent. Sandeep Francis on also worked very well as the editor of Khuda Haafiz movie watch online.

Direction

Faruk Kabir could have contributed a lot more as the director of Khuda Haafiz movie 2020. His vision lacked details to a great extent. In order to express the situation of urgency, many a times the speech of the characters got gibberish. Forceful Arabic accent should not have been used as the slip was not concealed from the audience. With Jammwal and Kapoor, Khuda Haafiz on Hotstar stands to be a good performance-based project, but the other casting members required a little more guidance, detailed directions and pertinent workshops to slip into the skin of their characters effortlessly.
