Abhay 2 web series review – Needs a strong heart to take in
Abhay Season 2 on Zee5 is a story jampacked with thrill, excitement, and a mature narration of a story that carries the brutality of the crime and the insanity of the mind. The first three episodes that found their release have shown a performance of class and immense determination to bring out something different.
The first episode speaks of a man who targets the best students who aspire to crack competitive exams with the top score. He gets the idea that by consuming human brains, he can get their share of intelligence. The man runs a photocopy center in the coaching hub of Lucknow and abducts students, rips open their scalp, and takes out the brain. He brings them to his wife and she cooks the brain soup for him. He uses a gas-electricity incinerator to burn out the remaining body of his prey but preserves the skulls. He carries out this entire activity in the closed barber store of his late father, who used to ridicule him for his stupidity when he was alive. Special Task Force officer tracks down this case and catches the man.
The next episode begins with a man striving to live when he was tied up and left inside a chamber of water until he died of drowning. A woman, Saloni, who was taking sensual pleasure in witnessing the man suffering, then butchered him with a big knife, chopped the ankle of one of his limbs and uprooted two of his teeth. On investigating, the police find the murder pattern majorly matching with one of the past criminals who managed to get out of the prison due to lack of evidence. The lady is a prostitute who got the man as a client year back, and when the man tried to kill her, she killed the man and adopted the murder pattern.
In the meantime, a man kidnaps a school bus containing 35 students and two teachers. He injures two policemen on the toll stop and since then, Abhay starts getting messages about the sale of a particular apartment. On solving the second case, he gets to know that 25 out of the 35 students and the two teachers (in the injured state) are found in the construction site of the apartment. The kidnapper kills one of the most eminent news reporters of the city and takes his chopped head to the hotel, where the reporter was about to get felicitated. The police catch him, gives him third-degree treatment, but he doesn’t stop is sarcastic laughter and doesn’t speak a word, except writing on the wall with blood: ABHAY PRATAP SINGH. Abhay is called then and it seems that the man and Abhay are connected from the past.
He promises to get Abhay one child per 12 hours if he executes the tasks given to him by the kidnapper. The episode ends with the hint of a grand season finale to be released on September 4, 2020.

Abhay2 is one of the finest web series made in the crime genre, which never lets you escape the brutal flavour of the crimes.
Script
The script of Abhay2 goes well with the well-built characterization of the series. Every word of the dialogue is designed with good research and reactive opportunities. The sharpness of the script catalyzed the whirling thrill of the series.
Acting
Kunal Kemmu was very good as far as the delivery of Abhay’s character is concerned. Asha Negi’s performance was also commendable. Chunkey Pandey did an extremely good job throughout the entire first episode. His appearance was shocking and even more shocking was his brilliant delineation of the role. Elnaaz also did a very good job as Saloni. But the real star of the show was none other than Ram Kapoor—this man simply sent chills down the spines of the viewers of Abhay2. His cold stare, the derision in the corner of his lips, the contemptuous laughter even when he was all in blood—everything was brought about so well that it was heard to believe that this emotional Ram Kapoor from Bade Achhe Lagte Hain can also go down and bathe in blood to get his job done and that too, involving kids.
Music
Ajay Singha took the show to a different level with apt use of background scores. The background scores went very well with the situations, thereby bringing out the thrill of the series.
Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing
The cinematography of Abhay2 simply outstanding, with Hari K. Vedentam as the DOP. Special effects made the visuals absolutely a treat to the eyes. Mukesh Thakur and Ajay Saklani’s work as the editor of Abhay2 is also worthy of appreciation.
Direction
It is needless to say, that Ken Ghosh did a very good job as the director of Abhay2. In addition to the crafting of the characters, the scenes were also executed in a very detailed way. When B P Singh is ready to help with his immense directorial experience through such a long-running show like CID, it goes without saying that the expectations and performance, both will be very high. One of the most beautiful part of the series was when Ram Kapoor scribbled the word LOL on the floor through blood with his toes. Abhay2 is a point-source of immense thrill and practical approach, setting the bars high for the season finale.
