College Romance Season 2 Review – Friendship has a lot of shades, and all of them are differently beautiful.

The story of Sony Liv originals production College Romance: Season 2 web series 2021 stands to be a better sequel of its not so happening prequel released back in 2018. Trippy, Naira and Karan, the trio reunite after vacation, when Trippy surprises everyone with his new hippie girlfriend. Karan is dating Deepika, who finds it too tough to even think about apologizing even when she’s clearly at fault. Yet Karan doesn’t stop being nice to her. Slowly it’s revealed that Trippy hasn’t yet got over his breakup with Raveena and hence Hippie leaves him, with no hard feelings. Naira is dating Bagga and is hell serious about him. But she’s hesitant to reveal that she is going abroad to study in the next semester and wants to check with Bagga if he’s serious enough to handle long distance relationship. Bagga chooses to stand by her, but somehow, Naira is not completely convinced. So she plans along with Karan and Trippy to scare away Bagga, saying that she’s been missing her menstruation, weeks after they had sex. In the meantime, Deepika breaks up with Karan saying that they are not the correct choices for each other. She eventually gets to find out how good Karan was to her and how she ill-treated him. When she gets upset, Trippy happens to land up there and they have a moment. With Naira’s plan getting revealed, Bagga and Naira break up and Karan is devastated to know what happened between Deepika and Trippy. He had moved on from Deepika, but he couldn’t take the fact that Trippy and Naira concealed this from him. But finally, the iceberg melted and all friends celebrated their journey in Naira’s farewell party, unitedly.

College Romance Season 2 Sony Liv has focused only on the Romance part. The stress of college has not been portrayed even in slightest proportions.

Script: The script of College Romance: Season 2 web series Sony Liv contains the filling of context. But the glaze of some “friendly” terms actually over did the dish. Monotony had set in after a couple of episodes as far as the script is concerned.

Acting: Apoorva Arora was more than just fantastic. She had finally stepped out from the shoes of her mannerism and tried to give a different colour to the character of Naira. Keshav Sadhna and Manjot Singh were a treat to the eyes. They just seemed to be genuine and the real friends that we seek in lives. Shreya Mehta also played Deepika quite well, but sometimes very monotonous.

Music: Tusshar Mallek did an excellent job as the music composer of College Romance: Season 2. Both the music and background scores catalysed the enhancement of the execution of the series.

Cinematography, Special Effects & Editing: Georgy John and Arjun Kukreti could have done a more introspective job as the directors of photography for College Romance: Season 2. Special emphasis should have been given on capturing important cinematographic moments in a more significant way. Tushar Manocha was quite sharp as far as the editing of the series is considered.

Direction: Apoorv Singh Karki made College Romance: Season 2 somewhat overtly dramatic. College life is undoubtedly about friends, parties and relationships—but the way it has been portrayed in the series is definitely much larger than life, especially when Trippy is shown to can’t even think of spending 700 rupees on beer. However, with great performances, College Romance: Season 2 stands to be a good pastime, but not completely an ode to friendship.
